The experts are looking into the possibility of the complete design of Toyota Prius 2023 for next year. The last major overhaul of this small hybrid electric hatchback was in 2016. This means that the current generation of Prius is obsolete. Although the Prius is the best hybrid for 2022, it needs a facelift. Currently, there are no official versions of the 2023 Prius or spy shots, but the redesign seems very likely.

When does the 2023 Toyota Prius come out

Some sources, including Kelley Blue Book (KBB), have high confidence in the arrival of the fifth-generation Prius in 2023. This is one of the best electric cars currently on the market for drivers on a budget. The new design can take this iconic, yet weak and light, from boring to bold.

Toyota has yet to provide a release date for the 2023 Prius, but we expect to hear more news soon. At this point in the year, the new Prius likely won't arrive until spring 2023.

How much does the 2023 Toyota Prius cost

We don't have official specs for the 2023 Toyota Prius yet, but KBB provides an estimated price starting at $26000. That's only about $1000 more than the current 2022 model, but it might be accurate.

Going off of this estimate, we can guess the rest of the models in the new Prius lineup:

  • 2023 Prius L Eco: $26,000
  • 2023 Prius LE: $27,200
  • 2023 Prius XLE: $30,200
  • 2023 Prius Nightshade Edition FWD: $30,400
  • 2023 Prius Limited: $34,200

Even with a slight increase, the 2023 Prius should still be one of the cheapest SUVs running on the hybrid powertrain.

2023 Toyota Prius interior features and design

Performance aside, potential owners will likely be more interested in making changes to the Toyota Prius 2023's cabin. While this comfortable and versatile hatchback offers more realistic cargo space for its size, the cabin isn't particularly exciting. KBB says that "the control layout in the center of the dashboard—not to mention the small gear lever protruding from the dashboard—has been a bit peculiar to the gasoline-powered vehicle since it first arrived nearly 20 years ago."

Quirk is a nice term. The Prius' cabin hasn't undergone an overhaul in a long time, and that's a long time to come.

On the outside, Toyota Prius 2023 may offer the same or similar colors. However, it may add new colors to the Toyota Nightshade Special Edition package, such as the new 2023 Camry.

So should you consider the current 2022 model or wait until the 2023 Toyota Prius? It's hard to say. The current model year is likely to be cheaper and more available. It may also be more consistent and reliable than the 2023 model, which is likely to be the first of the new generation.
