Allison 10-speed transmission to enhance the petrol engine's high towing capabilities
The 10-speed Allison automatic transmission is now mated to the 6.6-liter Sierra HD engine. It replaces the previous six-speed automatic transmission and is distinguished by shorter 'shifts' between gears, enabling the 6.6-liter petrol engine to maintain maximum power (401 hp and 629 Nm) for longer periods.
These improvements translate into a more confident feeling of on-demand power, regardless of whether the truck is towing a trailer or not – and when towing any trailer, performance and towing capabilities are further enhanced, thanks in part to the 10-speed transmission. , plus the ability to deliver every pound-feet of torque to the tires when each gear is applied.

The focal point of Sierra's high-tech interior is the new optional 13.4-inch diagonal tablet-style touchscreen — the largest in its class for the infotainment system1. This screen is horizontally positioned, thus allowing for an easy and customized user experience. The 2024 model gets an optional 15-inch diagonal multi-color windshield-reflective display, as well as a new, optional 12.3-inch tilting digital instrument panel. Together, these screens provide over 40 inches of immersive digital display to enable an interactive, immersive and personalized driving experience.
The user can customize the entire new display for the center of the infotainment system as desired, including the ability to run multiple applications simultaneously via the 'split screen' appearance (such as the navigation app running to the left of the screen and the music app to the right). The Sierra HD's infotainment system also features Google's 7 built-in technology (in all trims except the Pro), allowing customers to virtually live every aspect of their digital lives inside their vehicles.
